On Wednesday, 8 April 2015, the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mr Setya Novanto, accompanied by Deputy Speaker, Mr. Fadli Zon, and the chairperson of the organizing committee of the Asian and African parliamentary conference, Dr Nurhayati Ali Assegaf,  held an afternoon tea with ambassadors and representatives of the countries invited to the Asian African parliamentary event in Jakarta,  coming 23 April  2015.

At that event, Speaker Setya Novanto expressed his optimism that presiding officers and parliamentarians of the Asia and African parliaments will come to Jakarta to  voice the parliamentary dimension on the cooperation of the Asian and African continents.  The year 2015 marks the revitalization of various international commitments, the post 2015 development agenda, and the Beijing + 20 to name a few. This conference would provide a venue to discuss forward the looking solutions to the common emerging challenges faced by Asia and Africa.

The Indonesian House at the occasion ensures its readiness to welcome the honourable parliamentarians in Jakarta and wish to ensure the nice stay of the honourable delegates as guests of Indonesia.
