Greetings from Jakarta,

I am pleased to announce that the Indonesian House of Representatives will be hosting the first world Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development, and it is an honor for me invite member of parliaments all around the world to attend this event on 6-7 September 2017 in Bali.

In 2015 we have reached many agreements that initiated new development paradigm. A new set of  global agendas including the Sustainable Development Goals, the Sendai Framework, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda and the Paris Agreement have become our common guidance that will direct our commitment to eradicate poverty, to ensure a sustainable future of the planet and to leave no one behind in the whole process.

2016 is the year to transform our bold commitment into reality which requires all efforts from countries with different income levels and all stakeholders. In order to succeed the SDGs, the Indonesian House of Representatives holds the view that adding parliamentary perspective to the global discussion will not only help to shift the global development agenda into national agenda, but it will also push forward the national spirit from every actors involved in the process to attain the Sustainable Development Goals target.

I, on behalf of the Indonesian House of Representatives, am looking forward to welcoming you all in Bali; to put forward new form of political will and to set various policy supports to the era of SDGs implementation.
