Corruption Perceptions Index for Indonesia published by Transparency International

Corruption Perceptions Index for Indonesia published by Transparency International this year is in stagnancy as it scored 32. The same score as last year. To effectively deter, curb and combat corruption, it requires a strong political will and comprehensive measures to tackle the corrupt not just by penal sanction but also through preventive measures.

Global Organization of Parliamentarians against Corruption (GOPAC) Indonesian Chapter chaired by Pramono Anung is trying to provide support in making such strong political will. We also support the views of global parliamentarians in linking the grand corruption to crimes against humanity as well as violation to the human rights.

We will have such discussion on today, Monday, 9 December 2013 at 12.00 am in the press room with the press, as they forging the power of public opinion and gathering comprehensive information on related issues.

*Please note that this is not parliament but parliamentarians action, which may request the participation of only those who have the commitment, involvement and concern on matters related. This is beyond political affiliation. Up to this date there are only at least 35 parliamentarians from 560 members who join this chapter.
