The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia would like to welcome H.E. Mr. Wesley W. Simina, Speaker of the Congress of Federated States of Micronesia and the delegation of Congress of Federated States of Micronesia to the First Indonesia - Pacific Parliamentary Partnership (IPPP). We believe that the attendance of Speaker Simina, and the Delegation of the Congress of Federated States of Micronesia will enrich a fruitful discussion on key issues of Human Capital Development and Maritime Sustainability. As the Republic of Indonesia and Federated States of Micronesia have same concerns in climate change, tourism development and infrastructure, Micronesia’s perspectives in the meeting could provide a strengthening insight that would hopefully improve Parliamentary Partnership and understanding between both countries.

Federated States of Micronesia is an island nation located in the heart of the Caroline Islands Archipelago, a seacape that extends from Palau in the west to Kiribati in the east. It can be reached within 6-7 hours flight from Jakarta. Indonesia and Micronesia are aspiring to have a stronger connectivity to link cities of Indonesia such as Jayapura and Manado to Micronesia.
