The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia welcomes honourable members of Samoan Parliament Delegation, to the first meeting of Indonesia – Pacific Parliamentary Partnership (IPPP). We sincerely hope that Delegation of Samoa would have a productive discussion over the meeting’s key issues of Maritime Sustainability and Human Capital Development. Indonesia is committed to strengthen bilateral ties with Samoa underlining mutual respect. Areas of cooperation would include agriculture, tourism, fishery and disaster relief management. Indonesia also agreed on capacity building for Samoa in terms of communication, information and technology. Through participation in the first meeting of Indonesia – Pacific Parliamentary Partnership, Samoa is expected to gain a valuable insight related to those areas of cooperation, especially from the perspective of parliamentarians.
