AIPA President Parliamentary Visit

AIPA President, H.E. Mr. Marzuki Alie will conduct a visit to three AIPA member countries namely Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar from 24 to 29 July 2012. The visit is intended to strengthen the relation and cooperation between AIPA member countries.
Mr. Marzuki will hold a meeting with Speaker of The Malaysian House of Representatives, H.E. Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia on June 25th 2012 at Malaysian House of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur. Indonesia and Malaysia have ties of kinship with each other in which both countries have the same historical roots, culture and civilization. This kinship ties should be the potential of its own for relation of both countries. Mr. Marzuki believes that Indonesia and Malaysia need to increase the partnership in trade and investment and other economic cooperation.
In Singapore, Mr. Marzuki will call a meeting with Singapore’s Speaker of Parliament H.E. Michael Palmer on Tuesday, 26 June 2012. This is reciprocal visit of H.E. Mr. Palmer visit to Indonesia in May.
Then in Myanmar, Mr. Marzuki will hold a meeting with Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw (Burmese House of Representatives) and Amyotha Hluttaw (Burmese Senate) on 29 June 2012. This meeting indicates a strong commitment of AIPA in order to support democratization process in Myanmar.
