In his acceptance speech as AIPA President in 32^nd General Assembly of AIPA in Cambodia on September 2011, H.E. Mr. Marzuki Alie stated his strong commitment to continuously promotes democratic values in the region.

It’s been a year since Mr. Marzuki Alie handled over the presidency. Toward the end of Indonesian presidency in AIPA and in regard with the coming 33^rd General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Indonesian House of Representatives will hold essay writing competition on the topic of “Indonesian Leadership in ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)”. This competition opens to all  students in Indonesia.

The winner of the essay competition will receive a cash prize and be invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of 33^rd General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) on 16 September 2012  in Lombok, Indonesia.
